Master the Craft. Own the Field.

We don’t expect you to be an expert on day one—we just expect you to be hungry. At WEP, training isn’t a boring orientation; it’s a high-energy mentorship designed to turn raw potential into professional mastery.

You’ll be paired with a dedicated leader who has already walked the path, helping you find your voice, sharpen your pitch, and learn the psychology behind every "Yes." Around here, asking for help isn’t just allowed—it’s your greatest advantage.

Your First Week at WEP

Your first week here is all about learning through doing. You'll be paired with an experienced fundraiser who will train you and help you find your voice.

This week, you’ll start learning your pitch—basically the story you’ll be sharing about the charity and why people should support it. We want you to put in your best effort, but remember, it’s okay to make mistakes along the way.

Watch, Copy, Beat

In the beginning, watch how your partner delivers their pitch. Notice how they introduce the charity, connect with people, and explain why donations make a difference.

But don’t just watch—get involved. Start practicing your pitch as soon as you feel ready. The more you engage, the quicker you’ll find your flow. Ask questions, try out different techniques, and remember that learning comes from doing.

Learn and Practice

Once you’ve observed, it’s time to start pitching yourself. Use what you’ve learned, but also make it your own. Your partner will be there to guide you, so don’t be afraid to jump in.

Practice your pitch, refine it, and keep improving. The goal is to get comfortable sharing the charity’s story in a way that feels natural to you. We’re here to help, and we want to see you grow through the effort you put in.

Chill the F Out

We know there’s a lot to take in during your first week, but remember—this is about progress, not perfection. Don’t stress if your pitch isn’t flawless right away. What matters is that you’re trying, learning, and getting better each day.

Keep practicing, keep asking questions, and most importantly, keep it fun. The more relaxed you are, the more you’ll connect with people, and the more you’ll enjoy the experience.

Going the Extra Mile

Once you've proven your skills in the field, the next step is taking the CNP test—a key milestone on your journey with us.

This test isn’t just about checking boxes; it’s about making sure you truly understand the ins and outs of effective and ethical fundraising.

By passing the CNP, you’ll show that you not only know what to do, but also why it matters. And with that accomplishment comes a well-deserved promotion and pay rise.

This is your chance to take your fundraising career to the next level, with the confidence that you’re doing it right.
